Joining the army of local frog sponsors, Plumlife Homes have selected DJ, designed and brought to life by local artist Sian Ellis, representing the invention of the iPod.
Invented by a team of engineers and designers at Apple Inc, the iPod was an innovative type of portable music player that had enough storage to hold thousands of songs, a giant leap away from the Sony Walkman!
19 frogs, each representing an invention and designed and painted by local artists, make up the vibrant and fun outdoor art trail for everyone to enjoy, and visitors may well learn something new along the way!
From the beginning of the Stone Age, around 2.6 million years ago, man has strived to invent tools and technologies to make life easier and more efficient. Stockport’s Great Frogtastic Inventions Trail takes you on a journey through history, celebrating many of the greatest inventions – from the wheel to the slinky, from the printing press to the Plumlife Home’s iPod.
Plumlife has a deep connection to Stockport and in 2024, the organisation will be releasing a block of apartments near Stockport Train Station for ‘Rent to Buy’, which will help local people get onto the property ladder.
Plumlife Homes’ representative explains why they wanted to be a part of this summer’s big town centre event:
“I remember the first frog trail in 2019 attracted huge crowds and people of all ages. It was just as successful in 2021 and, from our perspective is a great way to get our brand in front of so many new sets of eyes as well as supporting a fantastic town centre-based, free family-friendly activity.”
