For the fifth and final week of our Live the Plumlife blog series, we provide you with top interior design trends for this Winter, including our very own Winter colour palette and furnishings to use alongside.

Colour plays a huge part in our everyday lives and can affect our mood, how we feel and how we interact with particular rooms in our home. We’ve picked a winter colour palette you can follow throughout October – April.

Earthy clay shades – These make great accent shades and are compliments to lots of different colours. They can make useful base colours for a neutral room, they give warmth and charm whilst remaining versatile. Buy furnishings with these colours and add different textures, cushions or velvet tub chair or curtains.

Terracotta – These burnt orange shades have been very popular in recent years, emerging from the 1970’s aesthetic revival. Matt shades of terracotta should be use alongside glossy textures; polished wood or glossy tile on the wall.

Rich and deep – These bold and dark colours gives a dramatic statement to any room; pair alongside wooden  or gloss furniture for a contemporary look.

If you’re looking to use one of these styles to refresh your living space then show us the finished look on Instagram via @plumlife_homes.
